Note from Donna 3.20.20

Dear Friends of Poetry:

I am hoping that you are well during this very trying and difficult time.  I wanted to let you know that unfortunately right now it will be very difficult for me to continue on the blog. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, overnight I had to learn how to do telehealth in my practice, get things set up, and am now dealing with very distressed patients affected by the virus. I have limited bandwidth! I am hoping things will eventually change and as things settle I will jump back onto the blog.

I hope that you and yours stay safe and healthy. Wishing you peace as we deal with this crisis, may the Earth continue the healing she is doing right now.

Donna

  1. Take good care of yourself, Donna! Thank you for the work you are doing helping distressed patients affected by the virus, as the Earth continues her healing. I look forward to poeming with you again, whenever that may be.

  2. Thank you Donna. Your work is so important as everyone's brain stem encounters their mortality. I hope to see your poems again because they bring another type of healing to the world.

For our inspiration, I posted a poem by F Scott Fitzgerald written while he isolated during the flu epidemic.

If there are administrative duties I can handle for you, please let me know. As an example, I have other poets who would like to join in our sharing. How does it feel to open that door?

    Stay well.

  3. Thank you both for your kind words, I truly appreciate it. In an instant life became totally online and it is not how I prefer to work! Everything feels surreal.

I hope during these difficult times that you and yours stay healthy and safe. And in answer to your question, Elizabeth, I see no reason not to open this to other poets, but that also depends on how you feel, Lynette.

I want to remind folks, though, that Gemma has asked that we not continue posting on the blog from Nickole’s class, and that will be especially important if you open it to other people; those threads should be on the new blog, so if you could shift those over that would be great.

    Peace, and til soon!

    Donna
